The aim of the research is to answer the question about the effects of the medialab workshops carried out so far on the initiative of the Ortus Foundation in Poland and what are the conditions for their further development towards building a permanent institution. The undertaken analysis was aimed at achieving the following theoretical and practical goals: identification of image features of medialab workshops organized by the Ortus Foundation; defining the scope of disseminating the concept of new cultural institutions in Poland through medialab workshops; determining the opinions and attitudes towards medialab initiatives of their participants and non-participants; identification of the scope of using the techniques and forms of activities learned at the medialab workshops by their participants; estimating the durability of the bonds established between workshop participants and the scope of cooperation through joint ventures; identification of current and potential benefits and barriers to the implementation of medialab initiatives; determining the factors supporting and inhibiting the future activities of the medialab institution in a permanent location; defining the characteristics of the potential role of medialab institutions in regional cultural and innovation policy; identifying potential solutions for building a Polish model of medialab institutions.
